OK. I'm in. He should be in center. That play he made last night that cost them the game would have been routine for most major league shortstops. Instead Jeter dives for no apparent reason and can't make a decent throw. image He's probably the third best shortstop in the Yankees infield!

In his defense, has batting has been fantastic and Cairo could have made the play. image

Looked like a very tough play to me -- no error, and Loretta was credited with a hit.

Jeter sure made it look tough. image

A lot of shortstops in the big leaugues make the play without diving. Most don't hit anywhere near Jeter's level.

Jeter's the master of the overact. Couple years ago, his 'diving' into the stands was not needed at all, but he did it just the same, to try to cover up his overrated tag.

Dude, you are really reaching now. I think your momma is calling you to dinner, better run.

And your attempts at insults are pathetic.

I am sure you can do better than this. Try harder!

What is pathetic is your attempt at distinguishing fact from fiction.

    You:

Yankee lover, blinded by all things NY.

    Me:

Objective observer, able to see overacting in Jeter flinging himself into the stands, and able to see Jeter as the overrated prima donna he truly is.

You, sir, are the one unable to distinguish reality from the mythology surrounding Jeter.

The reality is that Jeter is a solid, reliable player who will be sitting in cooperstown one day, while you sir will still be sitting in your mothers basement wondering why you are still a virgin.

Just as I am unable to distinguish reality from mythology regarding the WTC even though I was there and you were watching it on TV from 3,000 miles away.

Does anyone actually believe that a player would knowingly think to himself, Gee i gotta get more face time in the press and be a Sportscenter Gem, and fling himself into the stands as an overact?

Come on already Axtell, your hatred of all things "Yankee" really clouds your judgement, some guys go all out, its in their genes or their personality or part of some intestinal fortitude, some guys do what they have to do to get by, some guys don't do anything they don't have to. You can't teach it, it doesn't work that way, its either inside you or not. No player willingly risks his career to prop himself up, get a grip!

Yeah he dove into the stands just so people would think he is better then he is, Risking injury and a million dollar career. Axhole that possibly is the dumbest thing I have ever heard you (or anyone) for that matter say on these boards. You need some serious help.

    I'll second that.

The object is to catch the ball and he did make the play right?

Take one for the team and Axtell gets offended.

Obviously there is no "Axtell" in "team."

You: compulsive liar, willing to say anything at all if it makes you look like you might actually know something. I do not know how I would get through life if I was as stupid as you are, but I would like to think that I would find a way to do it with a little bit of dignity and not resort to dragging everyone else around me down to create the illusion that I was not at the bottom. You could then at least generate the pity you otherwise deserve, but nobody is going to even waste their pity on you. I suspect not even Momma enjoys your company at dinner anymore.
This is for you @thisistheshow - Jim Rice was actually a pretty good player.

    Booyah!!! Keep 'em coming.

I'll add "festering piece of gob" and "your type really makes me puke" for good measure.
