"I have a question if you buy a vintage wax boxes as lets say the 76 topps football cello is it better to leave the cards as they are or do you open them up
Thanks"
Well... it depends on the buyer. Some collect un-opened vintage packs... others (like myself) like to have FUN FUN FUN and rip those suckers open!
i've been watching several of his auctions but not bidding. several of the past cello and rack boxes had stars showing on all packs, so i'm assuming those were accumulated to form a rack box. however, it's still nice to see a 75 rack pack regardless not to mention a complete rack box.
he's got some good feedback so far.
Thanks,

I love the candy promo poster in the basketball box. Big Tooth! I remember those. And the Gold Rush gum pouches. Wow. An amazing selection of boxes. I'd like to have just the lid from the '72-73 BK box. I always did like that photo.

He looks totally legit but it scares me. I can't say if boxes I have bought from others have been opened/searched but there is a huge disparity in the quality of cards from box to box. However, if I spent $50 on an '81 Topps wax box and got nothing I don't feel so bad as it's just $50. This guy's auctions will go for BIG BIG BIG money. Unless he has had the boxes since they were brand new I would be hesitant. Too much to throw down on a gamble in my opinion. That '72 hoops box might go for what, $6,000? More?
I don't buy that much wax/vending boxes, etc., but I've had better luck buying these type items "raw" than authenticated by G_I. If your careful on who you buy from, you shouldn't have to much trouble getting untampered with items.

I would be very surprised if it sold for much more than $3,000.
Hi Did anyone notice that the 1972 fb wax box and the 1970 fb wax box that closed saturday looked like a possible shill was in action? I know its hard to prove sometime but a newbee starting out on ebay bidding on high quality stuff with no feedback and in the running to the last hour?
I noticed that as well which made me feel much better. The guy selling them has been very friendly and answered al of my questions. He stashed away a bunch of wax about 10 years ago with the plans of flipping it for a profit. He said the boxes were purchased from Dave and Adam's and are all clean. Unfortunately this is all he has so once it's gone it's gone.

That wasnt a shill. It was a scum that has had over 150 ID's this year alone. I keep reporting the jerk to Ebay, but they keep letting him go until he stiffs a few sellers. Cancel his bids, he'll have a new account in 10 minutes...
Hey Guys, I was the winner of the 72 FB wax box and can't tell you how pleased I am with it. Simply outstanding. I saw the 0 bidder running up some of the auctions, but was told by seller its just as baseballfanatic explained above and I believe him.
If you are planning on opening the 1972 box let me know. i need only four cards for my set and would by the raw ones off of you. What series was the box?
I would buy the empty box just for the cover photo!!! Man, what memories i have of the forum....Those were the days!!! If you sat in the right seat, when you stood up you could hit your head on the ceiling( for those who know)...
