  • I found this in the same batch i picked up last week..... I'm not sure what it is yet....... I can't tell what the date is for sure??? 1701, 1721, or 1791???? pretty corodded, I suppose after sitting inthe soil for so long didn't help matter's....image

    It's a coin of Louis XVI of France, date 1791. I'm not sure what mint it's from or its denomination (liard? half sol? sol?).

    Do a google search on "liard", "France", and "coin" and you should find some writeups with bibliographies. French coins aren't really my bag, so I can't really make any specific recommendations.
