Major League Baseball, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation team up for "Strikeout Challenge" Mother's Day promotion

Fans can support initiative by visiting MLB.com to pledge donations to "Strikeout Challenge" and to purchase specially marked cap and shirt to benefit Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation

On Mother's Day, Major League Baseball players will wear pink wristbands and the pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness will be displayed on player uniforms, as well as on all on-field personnel. Additionally, Louisville Slugger, the Official Bat Supplier of Major League Baseball, has produced pink bats stamped with the Major League Baseball breast cancer logo and will be available to all players to use Mother's Day weekend.

  • Pink Bats?

Hmmm... How many will use a pink bat this weekend?
  • Several players have signed on--Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, David Eckstein and Kevin Mench are the ones I recall hearing about. Mench even went as far as wanting his mother's and grandmother's names burned onto his bats.

I think this is a great gesture by MLB. Hopefully the bats will go up for sale at auction afterwards and they can raise even more money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12
