Iron in chinese cash coins?

I was dragging a magnet through my junk box the other day to pick out magnetic coins for my kids to play with.
I noticed several Qing dynasty chinese cash coins stuck to it weakly. I had always assumed they were brass, due to their bright yellow color, but apparently they have a significant percentage of iron in them. These are not iron cast cash; I have some of those and I know what they look like.
Try it yourself if you have any lying around.
