Looking for Encased Coins... Read On
Hello all. First off, I realize that these are not coins per-say but they are coin related, and I know I will get better exposure here than elsewhereso..... I have been dilegently working on my Mercury Dime collection and am pretty well as far as I will get on my salary as of now, so I wanted to dive into something new. I am looking for coins (Mostly Wheat and Indian cents) that are encased in the old aluminum (I assume) cases that have advertising or a slogan on them. Some are round and some I see are shaped as horse-shoes they call "Lucky Pennies" if you can believe that!!! I am looking on eBay currently but wondered if anyone here has some they would like to get rid of. I live in Iowa and I do collect a bit or Iowa advertising items (Vintage anyway), but I would also like some for all over. Anyone interested in selling or trading for something else (Coins, etc) please reply here or PM me. I am new to these and am unfamiliar with prices, rarity (If applicable to these), etc., so I always appreciate tips, info and knowlege as well. Thanks for your time and hope to hear from a few of you.

Some of the Indian cent advertising encased coins will cost you a small fortune depending on the state they are from. Encased cents go back to the late 1890s, most have not survived well in better condition, given limited production and the cost of production then, many are very, very rare and as such quite valuble.
Good luck with your new interest.
