Worth it to grade a 1?

After 4 years on the registry and these boards I'm contemplating actually joining PSA and actually submitting some cards to be graded. One card I was thinking of doing was a 1933 Sport Kings Ty Cobb. I won it years ago from a Teletrade phone auction (they were fun). I think they described it as F/G, but realistically it's a lot closer to F- than G. It's got staining on the front and numerous deep, non-color-breaking creases horizontally across the front. It's got eye-appeal, though, at least to me. I was thinking that it would be worth it to go ahead and get it slabbed, even if it does come back a 1 as I expect. Maybe even a 1(ST). It would be for my collection, not to resell as far as I know, and it would go in my SK set along with my PSA 5 Anton Lekang. But if I do sell it, what do you think, better raw or lowest possible slab? Assuming it's not trimmed or anything (I doubt it is), then I think the slab would be beneficial even if the grade isn't.

Yes, get it slabbed. There are several worthwhile reasons. First, adding it to your set counts towards your completion percentage and helps you get that much closer to free gradings. Second, the Sport Kings set is highly subject to counterfeit, fakes, reprint scams. Even if you know yours is real, having it slabbed will make it easier to resell some day. Third, the slab itself provides storage, protection, and labeling so that you can keep all of your set together in graded form.

I agree, definately have a card of that merit slabbed. Even if it is in poor condition it will show that it is authentic and unaltered.

Yes, certainly slab it. As others have said, the verification of authenticity is worth it.
