Have a real fondness for 73s, though not the sharpess of photography, some great action shots:

.... for me? ... Duh! ... Chris Sabo!

Favorite set? ... I've always been fond of the '99 Bowman, '89 Upper Deck, and '88 Fleer sets.

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!

Lately, I've come to really appreciate the 1991 Topps. Great action shots as well as other unique shots I've never seen before. I'm especially partial to the Clemens one.

The 1991 Topps Roger Clemens #530 (all known variations)

The Clemens and Wade Boggs (I think) were the two cards that received the most press that year from the hobby magazines. Every dealer I remember went nuts over those shots.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

For me, you can't beat the 1990 Leaf John Olerud card. I love that card.

My main player collections are Larry Allen and Rod Carew so I have an obvious fondness there. However, I also love the action shots like '73 (as Sting mentioned above). I love the paralell shot cards especially as Sting demonstrated. I just bid on a '73 Wes Parker today! Happy Monday to all!

Always been a big fan of this set, just for the way it looks, the action shots, the Super Bowl Summary and the College Awards.

    Stingray,

I'm a huge Blue Jay fans and Olerud was my favorite player. That 1990 Leaf card captures the follow-through of what is the most beautiful baseball swing I've ever seen. It also reminds of those glory years when the Jays were winning the World Series. All of this, coupled with the design of the 90 Leaf set and the blue on Olerud's uniform blending in with the grey on the card make it just the perfect baseball card to me.

After reading this, maybe I need a life image

That is fine, it is kind of cool to hear your perspective of it.

I agree with Tkd7 about that Proset set. Great set. However, about that same year Proset put out a glamour shot set of football players and some of their wives. That is one the most awful looking sets I have ever seen. It's a joke. Guys in funny poises, their wife's on cards, etc.... Just awful in my opinion.

I've always liked the 1977 Topps baseball set. The colors are really vivid.

There are a ton of great cards. There are plenty that I am still looking for, but this is my favorite of all of the cards I own. It is a long, boring story.

Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason.
Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason.

Yea that set was cheesy. Awesome pose on the Mrs. Montana card though.

I started collecting football cards in 1973. The first set I collected "en masse" was the 1976 Topps Football--therefore it is my sentimental favorite. I'd also like to give a shout out to 1976 WonderBread.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.
