i went through the holder and through the kitchen counter. I now have a nice screwdriver wedge over the dishwasher. My friends know me as a card nut and they will get a lot of mileage out of this. In case you are wondering, I broke out 6 84 Donruss Mattingly's that all should grade 9 or better.

Now you could get rid of the old countertop and get a Granite one!!!

That's why solid marble rocks. I have the lovely/mundane beginnings of a career in kitchen/bath renovations.

If you're going for pure strength, granite is tops (MOHS 7). Marble is only MOHS 3, if I recall.

P.S. We just added marble in the foyer, so I personally prefer marble.

If I was cracking a BGS slab, give me granite any day!!

^^Where I subcontract at they sell both. I'm partial to marble simply because of it's look(My personal favorite is blue flake), it's so much more beautiful than granite imo. The crazy thing is, Corian is more expensive than either marble/granite. You can't imagine how many Corian countertops get messed up during installation. But a lot of times people order Corian because they assume it's cheaper than stone. Eh, whatever suits them.

I've gone over-budget on my house renovations. Had to drop the granite counter top from list. I have to opt for laminate now

I totally understand. My porch is still sitting there...We were supposed to enclose it last fall and I'm just starting work on it this week to enclose it(windows, drywall, skylights, the works). Still haven't finished the basement either, probably be in the fall when I get around to that(I want to add a bar and a jacuzzi to the main room in the basement, there is an awesome spot for the jacuzzi that won't effect the size of the room at all). Eh, eventually.
