20th century Italian designs have quickly become one of my favorites.
19th century British copper is also very cool. Especially with color.

Here are a few that I just got in the mail. (Not my images.)

    1848/7 1/2P Obv
    1848/7 1/2P Rev

    1890 1/2P Obv
    1890 1/2P Rev

And I think I have only scratched the surface.

I like the gothic florin design, and (of course) the pillar and early bust designs of the spanish american colonies.

A few of my favorites ....
The 1924 Workers Ruble from Russia. "Workers of the world unite!" Propaganda in a coin.
The 5 Lati coins from the first Latvian republic. 1929-1932. This coin expresses so much hopefulness, from a country that was so seldom independent.
The various dragon dollars of Asia. I love the various depictions of dragons on this coins. Sadly, you have to be very careful when buying them, even though they're not so rare. The counterfeits are just so much more common.
The pillar dollar. "PLUS ULTRA" (more beyond) really captures the spirit of exploration of that era.

I've always liked the Italian Eritrea 1918 tallero. My specimen doesn't really do the design justice:

I could almost agree with you. This is what keeps me from it -

I must say though, you certainly posted a beautiful design image
    knowledge ........ share it
  • I can't believe anyone hasn't even mentioned the Una and the Lion. It barely beats the Gothic Crown imo.

Its not a great picture (a scan actually), but nevertheless one of my favorites.

  • Most of the Imperial Russian commemorative coins are a stunner, and I love the obverse of the 1912 Napoleon Defeat Centennial ruble, although the reverse was kind of a waste. Perhaps, the 1841 Marriage ruble too would be very nice. I too like the Korean design back when it was under the Japanese protecterate era, especially the crown size 5 yang. I personally think it looks nicer than a typical Meiji Japanese silver yen that you usually would know of.

There's a lot of 17th-century designs that are gorgeous IMO... a lot of cityviews and scenic designs.

Of the coins I own though, these are my faves:

I'm toying with the idea of sending it in to NCS and seeing if they can do anything about the verdegris and PVC...
