The mintage is listed at 2 million pieces.

It took a bit to find the one that I have...it's coin alignment.

The PEI cent was issued by the Heaton mint. A couple of decades ago, many high grade examples surfaced out of the Heaton Hoard discovery. Both medal and coinage alignments have surfaced. One is scarcer than the other, but I forget which.

I mostly use older references/books and some say a mintage of 1 million, and others say 2 million. And one says that the coin was struck in medal alignment. I just found that interesting because I found a lower grade example in coinage alignment.

For anyone who is interested, a member on the CCRS site states that the ratio of coinage : medal struck coins is 3:1, with that said though, both types remain common.
