Feb sub grades and mechanical error(lol's)

Well after nearly two calendar months my Feb submission was finally graded. Results not bad. 14-10's, 18-9's, 17-8's, 3-7's and 4 Not holdered, no holder available.

But here is the laugher. This is a nice mechanical error. Which I caught right away and phoned in the morning to have fixed before shipping to me.

Item #54 should be SOTBF Brett Favre not SOTBR BEN ROETHLISBERGER. Whom ever makes the labels must not see the cards. Whom ever puts the card, label and holder together must not look at them either. And finally, no one must cross check the invoice with the cards before they go.

There have been several really obvious errors made lately - such as the Favre/Rothensberger mistake. I posted recently that my 2005 White Sox ticket stub was slabbed as a 2004 Red Sox ticket stub. The error rate lately has been very high on the labeling of cards with many obvious mistakes that should be caught before the items are slabbed.

A friend got one back from PSA "WADE BOOGS"------- I don't think the folks that work there know anything about baseball, hall of fame players, sports, etc......... It seems like we're ALWAYS training their new folks. Sure would be nice if they cared about baseball------------ oh well,,,,,, can't have everything:-))))))))

I guess they were too thick. But I swear that there are some already graded. Particularly the Playoff Primes.

My last submission was actually pretty good in terms of ME's . 33 cards and 1 ME? Not sure how this one slipped through the process, but you would think that someone would have realized that it wasn't a micro card? I am sure the grader did but the encapsulater didn't?

They must be able to come up with a better system for controling for errors like this. Many of these arent even typos. By that I mean card #111 instead of #117. Cant the grader use the invoice to compare to the card. It almost seems that the person who enters the label entry is all on their own.

Also, why when you take a ME into PSA at a show that they cant correct the issue on the spot. That they have to take it back and correct it when they offer grading at the show? One would think it would save PSA money, no return shipping.

The will fix the cards at the show. The last 3 shows I have brought cards to be corrected, and they typically have them fixed within 4 or 5 hours. I bring them to the table when I first get there (9:30 typically) and pick them up around 2 or 3. They've always been nice about it - but it's still frustrating especially when the error rate has been between 5% and 10% recently (on my last 5 or 6 orders).

Thats interesting I wasnt offered that option the last time I drop one off there. I have a few that I have gotten that I need fixed at the next show in Rosemont. I will ask for the cards later that day. I dont know why they dont ask if you want that anyway. I would be cheaper for them.
