Nomar is back as Roscos_Daddy. What a a joke, some of this was discussed in the Kaline 8OC listed as a Mint 9 thread. He is listing and has listed the same items that he had up for auction at the time he was NARU'ed last year. He is up to his same old tricks selling the same old OC garbage. All of his card auctions are private, but the other stuff he sells are in open auctions. I will be watching this guy like a hawk. He gets under my skin for some reason.
I noticed he's now 'located' in my old hometown, Plymouth Mi. I always hated that place, and have no doubt that Nomar fits in well with the rest of the gnomes who live there.
This roscos_daddy jerk deserves to be slapped around - he has to be the cretin formerly known as "Nomar". Is diamondcrd him also, or just another scummy imitation? People like this give our hobby a bad name, and a bad reputation, as they mostly take advantage of newbies to the graded market who know nothing about it. He gets under my skin, too. Take a look at this joke of an auction -
With Ebay pulling legitimate auctions left and right, how does he get away with this? $2,000??? No mention of OC in the title? Looks like a Mint PSA 9? (Maybe to a blind guy?)
I am 100 percent positive that Roscos_Daddy is Nomar. He has gotten a little wiser, but no less sleazy. His new batch of auctions tout the cards as "looking like PSA 7, 8, 9 etc"
He used to claim that the card was actually the higher grade. It looks like he still uses the book value of the grade that he "thinks" the card deserved even though his "high end" cards are all OC or MC.
This guy is an idiot with his sights set squarely on fleecing the newbie or undereducated card buyer. I doubt anyone on this board will fall for his nonsense, but we didn't all just wake up this morning as savvy collectors. We all had to learn. With guys like Nomar-Roscos_Daddy, newbies get turned off to our hobby in a hurry.

Exactly. And that's why he bothers me so much. I can't imagine a collector, who is new to the hobby or grading, getting ripped off by this guy's misleading auctions - and then ever having a good feeling about the hobby or collecting again. Unfortunately, he got smart and made his auctions private so we can't warn potential victims, but there has to be another way to do something.
Here I thought this this thread was asking if Nomar Garciaparra was back to being an elite player because of his .375 batting average and good run production. He's doing better than I thought he would in LA thus far.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Aw shoot, I wish I read this before I sent him an email. I saw the Koufax card and emailed him asking if he was ignorant. Stupid me for not making the link to the Nomar jerk.
Nomar/Roscos_Daddy just had a whole slew of his deceptive auctions end tonight. He proudly touted each card's worth in the description. The total worth of his auctions that ended tonight was $55,975!!...according to him.
Well, what does the bidding public have to say about that? The grand total of the bids on his almost 56k stash came to $3,584.14
Some highlights were the 1955 Duke Snider PSA 8OC that he listed as being worth $14,000. The final hammer came down at 637.87. His PSA 9OC Magic/Bird/Erving card from 1980 was said to be worth $3,500. The final price was $404.
In looking at the auction results, it doesn't look like his scamming ways paid great dividends. Although, who knows? He might have made even less if he actually didn't try to deceive everyone.
Glad to hear that - the 8OC Clemente I referenced (which he claimed was a $2,000 card in both auction title and description) ended at $74.00. Of course, he probably got the card for less than that anyway...
I still don't get how this guy can get away with blatant lies in his auction descriptions, and Ebay does nothing about it. In that same 1966 8OC Clemente auction, he says -
<< <i>THE PSA SMR (SPORTS MARKET REPORT) FOR THIS CARD IS $2,000 >>
No, it's not. The SMR for a PSA 9 is $2,000 - he is selling a PSA 8OC (SMR on an unqualified 8 is $350, your guess how much the qualifier knocks off from that...but it's at least 50%-75%). It's like a car dealer selling a Hyundai, and telling you the book value for this particular Hyundai is $40,000 because it's basically a Mercedes, not a Hyundai.

The guy made $50 on this McCovey 9OC
He Bought

This makes me sick.
