What's the story with these? Krause shows a sale price of $133 and a market value of $100. Pope connection?

Not a clue here...
But looks like only 3-4 people bidding that high and most of the visible feedback for the top bidders are papal coins...

That appears to be it. The winning bidder buys Pope John Paul II items and old golf clubs.

If Krause mintage figures are correct, there are only 597 maximum sets available. There are LOTS of pope coin collectors.
