What does Paplebon being named rookie of the month have anything to do with the Yankees?

I think its great that Paplebon received this honor and it was well deserved. He has a nice looking future ahead of him if he stays healthy.

I agree with yankeeno. The guy has a great future in front of him. Kudos to him for winning the award.

Uhm the fact that the red sox and the yankees are in the same divison and battling for first place means it has everything to do with the yankees. throw in Rivera's shaky beginnings it's even more relevant.

I wonder how much someone would PAY for him?

That is the most stupid and lame arguement. Probably every team has good, young, cheap talent playing for them...and yes EVEN The YANKEES!
    Wang 373000
    Cano 381000
And there are many teams who would love to have these guys too. Imagine that...young talent making under 400K each on the Yanks.

Here's the difference...Red Sox fans(among other Yankees haters) still have that jealous craw in their gut about the Yankees.

It's Rookie of the Month Axhole, not league MVP or CY Young...not even AL Player of the Month! LOL image

But I'm not taking away from Papelbons accomplishments...just that there's a lot of season and a long way to go yet.

I'll say the future is looking bright for him. image

Well, he didn't look too bright last night. In fact, the whole bullpen sucked last night. It figures that the only game I make it to this year would be the one in which he picks up this first loss. What the hell is it about the Jays that they just own the Sox almost every friggin' time?

And that Yankee fan I sat next too was annoying as hell to boot.

I think this thread jinxed Papelbon. That was a wild one. Hey, I'm a Jays fan, but my hats off to the Bosox for scoring five off Halladay. The Jays play well against Boston and the Yankees, but play horribly against Tampa Bay -- explain that one to me image

Beckett has SUCKED since he plunked that batter in Toronto!! image

I wonder if his blister problems are cropping up again.

The Sox had the offense to overcome Beckett, but Foulke and Pap were not sharp as well -- hard to overcome 3 pitchers having an off night.

That's too bad about Beckett. As a Jays fan, I'm concerned about Burnett. Those elbow injuries are scary. The doctors are saying there is nothing structurally wrong with his arm. People think it is a mental thing with Burnett. I sure hope he is able to pitch effectively this year. Someone said that when the Jays signed Burnett they got a guy with a $55 million dollar arm and a 10 cent heart. I hope this isn't the case.

Now, tonight's game should be a wild one. Josh Towers is 0-5 with a 10.45 ERA, but it doesn't look like Clement has fared much better for the Bosox.

    Stay tuned!
