PSA/DNA submission, did not include supporting info

Hi. For the first time I submitted an autographed football to PSA/DNA for authentication-- NOT autograph grading. The ball has three qutographs-- Marino, Elway, Montana.

I was with the three at an event at Caesars Palace about two years ago and have a photo with the three. I was going to send a copy of the photo in, along with other preprinted info from Caesars about the event, all to prove the authenticity.

I forgot to include that supporting info/photo.

Do I have to worry about a rejection?

thanks for your advice, help.

  • You should be fine I think. The picture and all won't make a difference to the person Authenticating the football, they will solely judge the signatures and compare them with the real ones for authenticity.

thanks Murph. but my concern is (and this might be totally unwarranted) that some "authenticator" is going to say these are not authentic. And for gosh sakes, I was there and know darn well these are all authentic, and I have the picture with the three QBs.

Frankly, Ive had some negative experiences sending in raw coins that came back undergraded or "body bagged" as we say on the coin side.

Im just trying to make the process easier.
  • I understand your concern, but a signature grader and authenticator strictly evaluates the autograph or autographs for their authenticity, not any outside sources or refrences. They have dozens of those autographs on file, and they have seen hundreds or maybe thousands of the autograph in question and if it's real, they will grade it as such. I'm sure their level of error is a much less than 1%. Believe it or not it is very very difficult to forge an autograph that even comes remotely close to passing as the real thing. Anyways, I wouldn't worry at all about it, they will grade as authentic. Plus, if you were to send those pictures and whatnot in, PSA probably would lose it somewhere in the process and you might never get them back.

    Thanks,

    Matt
