Anyone going to the Dayton Hamvention?

I know there are a bunch of amateur radio guys on the forum. Wonder who's going to Dayton?

As someone who grew up in Middletown, I have to say, Hamvention is too depressing to even think about.

Figured I'd get more wisecracks than serious answers.

I may collect hams, but I don't eat them as they're not kosher image

Why do ham radio people get their call signs on their license plates?

    A few reasons:
    1. So we can recognize each other and honk hello in Morse Code (though this doesn't apply any more as Morse is no longer required for all licenses.)
    2. So we can recognize each other when providing communications at public service events.
    3. It's just another vanity plate.

Personally, I have not had a call-letter plate for many years. The callsigns are public info in the FCC and other databases. A callsign can be typed into Google and name, address, etc. is available.

About as much as your damn stupid response, which by the way TTT'd the thread.

You don't like OT threads, don't open them, and for God's sake spare us the agony of an asinine reply.

What it has to do with US coins is I'd like to meet any of the other US Coins forum members who might be there. I hope that meets with your approval.

    No. image

Now, I want to know if the coin is for sale, and that conversation belongs on the BST. imageimage

    RYK,
As some wise sage (not rad) once said, any coin is for sale if the price is right. I kept this one (and the 1916) after selling my SLQ set a few years ago (see, now it relates to that other thread about what you do after finishing a set - I keep the keys and sell the rest of it.)

Geeze, now we're talking about coins in this thread - I was trying to avoid that!image

Just thought I'd give this one more shot in case anyone missed it, as the time approaches...
