Just purchased this one from Mark Glicker and don't have it in hand yet, but it looks good to me.

I hope that image is from a scanner, as it appears to have no lustre, which is one of the drawbacks of scanning coins rather than using a camara.

Of course the lack of lustre could account for the 62 as well.

At any rate, an 1882 is a great date for a trade dollar (actually, I like any of the 80s dates - always wanted one of those).

Given the opportunity and dinaro, I probably would had added it to my collection in a cocaine heartbeat!

If that's Heritage's scan, then the coin should look much better in person.

Not sure, but I believe Mark uses a scanner. If you look carefully you can see some faint hairlines on the left side. However, at PR62 I would expect to see hairlines. I believe I got a good price and was prepared to pay more. Hope Mark made money or at least didn't lose any.

i am curious why it was not busted out and regraded.
is that slab that coin's coffin?

otherwise i like it. a proof trade dollar is way cool!

edited to add: i could be confused on how old that slab is though.
appears to be 10+ years old?

I don't know if the certification numbers are in sequence or not, but if they are this appears to be a fairly recent slab. Looking on the heritage site I see 1882 proof T$ with cert. numbers from 04215971 to 5698257. Since this has the number 6604423 it might be newer plastic.

    Most proof coins don't.

I'd guess it's around six years old.
