How many cards do you currently have that you want to have graded?

I did a count tonight and I have 742 cards in cs1's waiting to be graded. On average I send in 50-125 each sub, this could take a while and I have a highly addictive buying habit image

Around 500, give or take 50.
  • I have about 25 89-90 O.P.C. Steve Yzerman cards that I will be sending out to grade, all look mint or better to me, may be wasting my money on grading fees, but some cards I just have graded, and do not care what the resale value is. Can someone give me the SMR on the 9 or 10?
  • williplettwilliplett Posts: 471 ✭✭
I checked the SMR online and didn't see the Yzerman listed at all.

same cards, 2 different angles.. i have no idea how many there are..

yeah, i figure i should break down and invest $3 in another shoebox too, i think ive used this one since 1992 or 1993.. regardless of it's looks, it's still going strong, and sturdy thanks to a little packing tape reinforcement..

I have about 150 basketball cards I want to get graded, approximately 50 cards from the 50's and 60's, about 50 75 Topps baseball and then there's the unopened box of 1984 Donruss that keeps tempting me and who knows how many beauties will come out of that box.....
  • milbrocomilbroco Posts: 2,709 ✭✭✭
I have about two thousand that I know need to be graded both stars and commons that may grade a 9 or 10. The commons are like 1975 Topps baseball, 1976 and 1984 Topps football, 1986 Fleer Basketball, 1979 and 1980 Topps hockey along with a few other select years.

Also, I have about 50 3,200 count monster boxes of cards from about 1980 to 1988 all sports full of commons and semi-stars that need to be sorted. All of these are cards that I opened back in those years and put immediately into these monster boxes so the corners are all sharp but need to be checked for centering.

Holy cr@p! All I can hear is PSA's cash register ringing after seeing the number of cards in this thread waiting to be slabbed!

I just checked my recently-completed spreadsheet of Puckett cards and I've got 129 from 1985-1995 I'd like to get graded. That sounds like an outrageous amount to me. Maybe if I sent in other choice doubles of cards from my stash of late 60s Topps, early-to-mid '80s Topps, '84-'85 Donruss, etc., maybe I could score a few 10s, sell them and recoup some cash.

Is that the strategy some of you have? I'm sure most of the cards listed here are for personal collections, but there's gotta be SOME turnaround of investment-grade stuff waiting to be flipped...

    'Fess up!

I have two safety deposit boxes for the high dollar stuff full of ungraded cards from T206's to the 70's. I would figure between 2,000 to 3,000 cards. IMO these are cards that would PSA 7 or better.

Seriously, I seldom submit for grading, but I have a box with a few dozen vintage cards in it that I'll probably submit over time as I get PSA buyback vouchers or completion percentage free grades. I think the most "modern" card in the group is a '72 Topps Venezuelan sticker.

Well as GregM13 can attest to I have about 1000 Favres that are waiting. Nearly 100 Auto'd cards for either the FB HOF set or my Favre TD Receivers set. Many others that I could pull out of my sets from the 70's-80's (baseball, football, basketball and some hockey). Too bad Greg didnt get a chance to see my nearly complete run of Topps basketball from the 70's-80's. Next time.

Sometimes I think about have most of it graded but I usually just say the Favres, autos and some of the stars from my sets. That way I have the good cards protected.
