84 Donruss Rack Breaks !

Ok, I am busting 10 -84 Donruss Racks, bought from BBC Exchange for $20 a piece. This first scan is of some great centered commons I pulled from the first two packs, I havent looked at the pop report for any of them yet, but they are pristine, no chipping perfect corners and great centering. i also pulled a Strawberry rookie but it was oc.

    Some more great centered cards ! I think the Spike Owen has zero 10's which is why I posted both.

    No Mattingly's I got three Strawberry's, two Ripkens, Gwynn, two sandbergs, several dawsons, two julio francos, but no mattinglys.
    I have enough perfectly centered low pop commons to make up for the lack of well centered stars, assuming they grade 9 or better. A lot of the time a low pop common will bring more than a star player from this set.

    Grading on the next $5 special, I have about 25- 30 more commons centered as well as these, but frankly I am too tired to scan them in.

    yes, there were a plenty. I had 10 racks at 45 cards, that equals 450 total cards, out of the 450 I would say 50 MAYBE 9 or 10 centering quality.

    I am kinda bummed I didnt get a mattingly or ryan or rose etc, etc. But I am pretty satisfied considering the quality.
    I keep waiting for some of the 84 Donruss collectors to chime in here and give me some imput on the toughness of some of the commons I pulled. I know the Spike Owen has no 10's in the pop report and I pulled two that are very well centered. Has anyone heard about the grading special for May yet?

    You did a lot better than me on my pulls tonight. 3 wax boxes; 1986 Fleer...15 submittable, 1986 Donruss 5 submittable, 1986 Topps ZERO submittable(I even scrutinzed all the commons on this one the others I only looked at stars and minor stars)

    Does anyone know if these 84's are prone to chipping or not ? I have looked at about 100 or so under a 10x loupe tonight and havent found one with any chipping on it yet.

    No, to my knowledge they don't chip easily. I have opened a few boxes and centering was the only issue I saw. I love this set. So simple but just great!
