Need some advise...

Hello,

I am new to PSA and this board. I just received my packet from PSA today.

I have a Nolan Ryan Rookie card and was wondering do you recommend using one of my free card submissions on it?

Or

Do you recommend using a lower price cards for the free ones?

I am also worried about PSA losing my cards. Does this happen a lot? I was reading on another post about PSA losing a guy's card.

Any help would be great.

Thanks for your support,

Mark

PSA won't lose your cards, some people on here talk about the worst-case-scanario's as if they happen regularly. You should not be concerned about anything happening to your cards when they are at PSA, they're very reliable. I've submitted hundreds of cards, some worth several thousand dollars, with no worries and have had no problems.

As far as your 6 gradings included with your membership, send in the 6 cards in your collection that you want graded most. Of course you should send your Ryan rookie, that is a card that you definitely want to have graded. The membership submissions can include cards of any value, so if you have other more valuable cards, this is a great opportunity to use the certificate to have them graded. Less valuable cards and/or mid-grade stuff can be reserved for grading specials.

Be prepared in advance for grades lower than you are expecting. Often times, cards that appear "mint" or "perfect" to someone who has never dealt with graded cards are upset when the card comes back with a 5, 6, or 7 because the centering isn't quite as good as you may think or the corners have a little more wear than you can detect with your eye, or the surface has a wrinkle that you never noticed.

And dont be worried that you are going to get lower grades because they are your free submission. I have received some incredible grades on my first submissions...very satisfied. They will grade your cards fairly.
