The color appears questionable, especially on the reverse rim at 6 to 7 o'clock.

Very nice coin, Ellwood, IMO. Based on what I can make out from the photo, MS-65. RB on the official color designation.

I'm not suspicious about the color, since I've now seen a fair number of Lincolns in all wheat decades with that magenta tinge. I don't think it was terribly uncommon for cents to come into contact with something that toned them in that way. I say OT all the way. Buttered popcorn, perhaps?
"Coin collecting problem"? What "coin collecting problem"?

Like they said, 65 R&B, real nice cent.

Looks like a nice coin! Is that rub I see on the forehead, cheek, and jawline? Don't know it will go MS. Here is my example in a PCGS MS65 RB Rattler Holder:

  • That coin is NOT AT.
  • DickyBetz - You seem sure that it's not AT. The colors bother me - a bit too bright on the purples and pinks. Might be retoning after a dip long ago.

It's pretty, though, but I'd have to guess a BB at PCGS. Sorry!

  • looks like a nice coin, MS-64, as to the colors...i posted quite a few with similar tones that came from an old whitman album that had been in storage for a long time. the backing paper def. played a part in the colors...
