Hi ZAR, Are there any S.A. crown sized silver coins? I am trying to put together a set of silver dollar/crown sized coins from differant countries............Thanks in advance.........Rick

there is also a 50 cent coin that was minted from 61-64 (inclusive) that is the same size as the 5 shilling coin and is often referred to as a crown (even though it isn't!)
you can pick one up on ebay (if you stay in the later years) for less than $20 almost any day of the week. there were also 5 shilling coins minted from 1892-1898, but those are gonna run you $100+ for a very circulated example.

The shafts are represented on the wagon on the code of arms on the reverse of the coins.
The Double shafts are error coins as the wagons only had one shaft.
Obviously the Double Shaft coins are more expensive.
