Grades Just Popped

My first of two batches just popped. All of the cards are for sale. Overall, I am pleased except for the not holdered. The 1988 OPC McGwire was a resubmit, previously a PSA 9. I thought it had a chance at a ten. The not holdereds are all 1983 Fleer Stamps which they do holder. I mislabeled them as stickers, and that may have thrown PSA for a loop. The Morgan and Garvey came from two rack packs from the bay for $10 each (I think). The Brett and Sheffield came from factory sets, although these were the only two cards in these two sets worth grading. Five out of the nine cards met my hopes or exceeded my expectations.

Seriously, at some point common sense has to prevail. Nobody's trimming 1988 OPC. If there's any question just slab it.
Also, I believe they do slab the stickers as well, so who knows what's up with that.

Don:
PSA does grade both the 1983 Fleer Stamps and the 1983 Fleer Stickers. That said - PSA is notably inconsistent with its oddballs in terms of grading or not...

Do you seriously want PSA to adopt an "If there's any question just slab it" policy to trimming?

To a .10 card that's just going into somebody's registry? Yes, I do. Who cares? It's obviously close enough such that it went through the first time. And if they weren't agonizing over '88 OPC's everyones orders would probably get done quicker. If they think there's a small chance its trimmed, but can't really be sure, just grade it an 8 or a 9; that basically saps all the value out of it, and doesn't provide a trimmer with any incentive to try it again.

Now if an order of '52 hi numbers comes in and they're all 1/32" short, that's a different deal entirely. But for '80's junk I don't see who benefits from having PSA clamp down on potentially trimmed cards, since nobody's submitting this stuff with the intention of turning a profit. Just my 2 cents.
