Trip to my bank

Today, my mom took me to our local bank. I asked if they had any half-dollars. They said they had one roll in the vault. I bought and opened the roll in the car. 5 coins were keepers!

1955---AU-MS nice edge toning, good date
1962---PR60-63 pretty cool being proof!!!
1967---AU Just silver
1964---EF More silver
1971---PR63-65 CAM Wonder how that got there?

I was pretty exited. Too bad they did not have more!

Cool for you!!

I went to the bank and asked for two rolls. The cashier said no problem and got the supervisor to go in the vault and get them.

Several minutes later they came out with a partial roll of clad Kennedys ($7.50 worth that THEY went through)

The cashier said the others were locked up in another box and only the bank Manager has the keys.

It seems they must be reading these threads too.

I picked up a box ($500) in half-dollars and am over half way through searching it. So far not one silver coin. Although I think I have about 2 full rolls of very bright and uncirculated 1994's.

With one roll you landed a heck of a lot more than I did!!

I go to a bank several times a month to get rolls of halves. Been doing this for years and only twice found a Silver Franklin. I don't do this for the idea of finding rare coins, it's just fun spending them. I do the same with $2 bills. One bank I know of has an never ending supply of both I think. They never have to go to a vault, they have the stuff right there at the counter. One time I asked why and a teller said everyone asks for this stuff so often they just keep it on hand.

I've been through about $500 worth of half dollars and only a couple keepers. Mainly UNC's for my album. No silver, no Frankie's, bleh. There's another $200 sitting back at my parents waiting for me. Maybe banks a little more south have some silver in them!
