NHL's fastest skater

Who's the fastest skater in the past 20-30 years in the NHL? I'm going with Bure, but I'd really like to hear what others have to say on this. This is part of a long standing argument with a friend of mine, so your opinions do matter!!

Geoff Sanderson has some good legs, or he did. I haven't seen much of him lately. Sure been a good player over the years.

Went to lots of Vancouver games when Bure was a rookie, that guys speed was unbelievable, and I mean unbelievable!!!

Paul Coffey hands down and he would still be the fastest skater in the league today if he were in his prime.

In his prime Mike Gartner was as good a skater as anyone.

I agree on the Russian Rocket. He was my favorite throughout the 90's.

I though of Coffey also, amazing how he could go so fast and look like he was just, takin it easy.

He's probably the best (skating) example of the old saying " it's all in the mechanics "

I never got to see him play, but the Roadrunner Yvon Cournoyer was said to be very fast as well. And I know he was no big star, but Russ Courtnall could fly with the best of them. Fedorov was fast (he isn't anymore), as was Mike Gartner, so is Mike Modano (a very similar style to Fedorov), although he doesn't get enough credit for his speed. I would probably agree that Bure was the fastest ever though, too bad how it ended for him.
