Several lessons to learn from this ebay listing

1. Don't buy raw gold on ebay
2. Be wary of overseas sellers
3. I think I know what shill bidding is now.

Any other thoughts?

image really. not all that bad.
He states it was wiped. That's unusual.
    Panama technically isn't overseas.
    Has a Cali P.O. Box (?)

If you look into the history, I don't see any real red flags. Guy just seems to live in Panama. JMHO

I have bought many coins from that seller with no problems. Coins that have been cleaned are listed and he ships from Calif. Sorry, I think you have this one pegged wrong!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Maybe it is shill bidding, but it doesn't look like it to me. It looks to me like panamared1951 put in his high bid, and jgmata766 kept bidding to try and beat it. In the end he got beaten by annualcoins, who he then outbid by $10 to win the coin.

The only thing that looks unusual to me here is, where did annualcoins get the time machine from?? On April 24 he beat jgmata766 with a bid placed on April 19. How does his bid placed on the 19th only show up on the 24th?
If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.

The bidding seems very strange--almost like jgmata766 is trying stretch out annualcoins bid.

I could be wrong but this auction seems strange to me.....

The bidding looks ok to me. The only questionable thing I see is the Panamared1951 bid. Bu it was placed so early, for such a low amount, and they only bid one time so I doubt it is that much of a shill.

Annualcoins only placed one bid, on the 19th, for $700. That gave him the high bid and he stayed the high bidder until the 24th without having to place any more bids. They don't list his bid individually each time someone tries to out bid him and fails. jgmata766's bids simply show inexperience. But he didn't nickel and dime the bid. He did jump it 20 to 50 dollars each time.
