'Numismatic Scrapbook' index to articles?

PhillyJoePhillyJoe Posts: 2,728 ✭✭✭✭
Pretty obscure request since it hasn't been published since 1975. Has to be an index somewhere. Anyone have a contact at Coin World? (who owns the rights to the magazine)

Magazine was published monthly from 1935 to 1975. Must be a wealth of information there. Thanks for any info.

Leaving for the Phillies game. Back later.

Harry Bass had a search engine that worked for this (called NIP). You can access it online here.

NIP is best. There were also two issues in 1976 (Jan, Feb). Good authors including Breen, Boosel, Chamberlain, and many others.

There was an index for the magazine published at one time that I think covered 1935 - 68. For later years I think you would have to get the individual issue that contained the index for that year. (Sorry, I lost my copy in the fire back in 97.) The person I would check with would be book dealer John Burns. I know he has a large stock of Numismatic Scrapbooks, so he would probably have the index as well. He should be at Central States this weekend if you would like me to ask him about it. (Heck I'll ask him anyway because I need to replace my copy. What I really need to do is give him a list of the issues I still need.)

And hardly obscure. I think just about any serious numismatist is familiar with that great publication. There is still a lot of good information in that magazine that I have seen nowhere else.

I was a writer in Numismatic Scrapbook for the last year or so. Maybe I killed it off?
The last Editor was David T. Alexander, now one of the senior cataloguers at Stack's, who by sheer co-incidence was best man at my wedding. As he used to say, we were chained to the same oar at Amos Press.
