Seems like there is an acronym list post around here somewhere, that thing should be a hotspot on all forums just to assist people when new and unusualy ones come along. Maybe have it setup as a WIKI page so people can add to it as new *TLAs come along.

    * TLA is a three letter acronym that stands for three letter acronym.

Thats not a stupid question...................I asked it myself!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Thats a very very cool thread. I will throw in my 2 cents as to the r1 through R8 ratings scale (Increasing value indicating increasing rarity). There is an exonumia scale for coal scrip (Edkins Cat.) which basically goes to a R-10. R10 being basocally, 1 to 3 specimens known. I own 2 R-9's and its a very very close call to see a true R-10. I have been lucky enough to see one.

    Again, great replies here.

Don't be embarrassed or afraid to ask questions. I'm glad you didn't let that stop you from asking. That's what the good folks here are for. image

It's best to ask a question and maybe thought a fool, then not ask and be one.
