1997 4oz SILVER STATUE OF LIBERTY COIN *PLATINUM* WOW

"link"

I already wrote him and told him that don't make 4 oz sized Platinum coins. That it's probably 1/4 oz. We'll see if he changes his ad.

Not really. It's a piece of crap, but I don't see a problem with the auction.

4 ounces of Platinum -- your talking 4K plus.
Reminds me of a statue that was offered as a metal play back in the early 80's. It was a beautiful eagle made out of just over 125 pounds of silver (if my memory serves me right) That puppy would be worth a pretty penny today if purchased after the last silver bubble burst.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

Err, I don't even want to say what I think I see reflected in the reverse...

Looks like it is worth about what 4 ounces of silver is worth. It weighes 4 ounces .999 silver with platinum layer.

Anyone look at the bids? Appears there is quite a battle between two numbnuts shaping up, heh

Wow, you should at least read and comprehend the auction before trying to be the eBay police.

Added: OK, maybe that was a little bit harsh. It's junk, but it's accurately described for what it is.

Except that it's not platinum -- it's four ounces of silver, with about a nickel's worth of platinum covering. If anyone pays a penny over melt, they're getting ripped.

Bump... it was overpriced, but I've seen people pay $80 for the 1oz version of this, so it's not too bad.
