Russ, can you tell me anything about this HHH?

HAIRY HEAD HOLDER. I picked up a couple of 64's yesterday and one was in this holder. Never saw one before and was just curious. I would assume they were made by "third party" entrepeneurs to hawk their halves and were not gov't issue. Is this correct? Have you come across many other types of holders?

    Cant tell you where they where issued from , but i have had mine for about 6 years and at that time i put a 64 Kennedy in it. This is what it looks like now. Recently gave it away at the local coin club auction, but kept the holder with the plastic case. image

    You assume correctly. The holder you have is rather common. However, I've never seen one with a proof coin in it so I have a hunch the original coin was removed and replaced. Most likely because it was nicely toned.
