PCGS coin with PVC: What to do?

I just got a PCGS 1883 AU58 Shield Nickel and I noticed it has some PVC residue on it. It's in an old green holder. If I send the coin to PCGS will they remove the PVC.

I asked the same quesiton in the Q&A forum, and was told to send the coin to customer service and they would either fix the coin or replace/reimburse me for it. I have not yet acted on their advice yet. IIWY, I'd call customer service and pose your question...Mike
