Q about hacienda tokens

Right now a fellow is selling a large collection of very interesting spanish and mexican era hacienda tokens on ebay and it got me to thinking---- all hacienda tokens i know of are attributed to ranchos in mexico or south america. Wouldn't it be logical that spanish and mexican era rachos in, say, Texas, California and New Mexico, would have issued hacienda tokens too? I've never seen any such ever listed. But if they do exist, it seems that would open up a whole 'nother new interesting field of early American tokens. Anyone know of any similar American hacienda/rancho tokens? Besides the 1818 Jola Texas token and the Hawaii plantation tokens?

A large percentage of the hacienda tokens are Puerto Rico. There are others from the Caribean
and South America. The Puerto Rico tokens tend to go for $10 to $20 in nice shape. Whitman
included these in their Puerto Rico coin book circa 1963 or '64. It is long out of print and difficult
    to find.
