1961 Fleer football magazine cut outs

Does anyone have any knowledge of these black and white 'cards' that were apparently issued in some kind of football magazine back in '61 (and printed on that type of stock)? Does PSA grade them? I have no photo available.

    Rip,

It sounds like it could be the 1961 Fleer Wallet pictures?

145 card set (black and white) issued as a magazine insert called "Wallet Picture Album." You had to handcut the cards from the album pages. The backs have just the player and team name.

The big football Beckett says; "once cut, most of the cards measure roughly 2 1/2" x 3 1/4" with 11 cards measuring 2 1/2" x 2 1/2." Many of the photo's were the same as used for the '61 Fleer set." Cards 1-90 are AFL, and cards 91-145 are NFL.

I don't see any listed in the pop report or the set registry, however, PSA does grade the 1961 Browns Nat'l City Bank issue and the 1962 Post (both which are hancut) so who knows? Might be worth a try (or an e-mail).

    Good Luck!

    Mike
