Counterstruck Peace Dollar commemorating the Camp David Peace Accord

DNADave · April 23, 2006 4:59AM

Name your price for both of those coins, Outhaul.

.

WHAT? He started it...

NumisOxide · April 23, 2006 5:10AM

It's French but it has to do with the U.S. .

Outhaul · April 23, 2006 5:16AM

Ooooooohhh....Don't tempt me, Dave...

Actually, I might want to part with the top one.

Coxe · April 23, 2006 5:21AM

Outhaul (Bob) -- What a horrible thing they did to a rainbow-toned Peace dollar! Well.....as a gesture of peace.....dammit! Why couldn't they just have chosen an ugly one?

Outhaul · April 23, 2006 5:31AM

Actually, it toned because of the original holder. Otherwise, just another lackluster Peace buck.

SS Republic Shipwreck Medal

Here's one I haven't posted before. A uniface medal obviously with something to do with Earl B. Barnes. Who was he? Beats me. 3.25" in diameter. Edge is stamped MEDALLIC ART CO. N.Y. BRONZE

The interesting thing to me is the signature at the bottom right of the medal: JRS 1939. Could that be John R Sinnock, could later went on to design the Roosefelt dime and the Franklin half? Again, beats me...
