Can someone post the pattern dollar that Gilroy Roberts created?
Prior to the SBA, Gilroy Roberts created a pattern dollar coin that was very similar to the flowing hair design of 1794/5 only in the small size planchette.
I used to have a picture of this coin, however I can no longer locate it. Could someone please post a picture of both obverse and reverse?
Thanks,

I am not certain of the pattern number, but that sounds like if may be correct based on the date.
<< <i>If so, USpatterns.com website has a pic of it. >>
Cool, I'll take a look there for other coolios.

It's a beauty. If I were pope o' da mint -- I'd put that design on the quarter when the SQ program runs out.
<< <i>I like this design MUCH better than the Susan B. Dollar!! But then again, anything compared to the Susan B. is better. >>
That design is so much better than the SBA design that it's almost embarrassing. About the only fault I can find with it is the fact that it's the same dimensions as the SBA. (I have a feeling that the dimensions were dictated by law, though. Not much to be done about that.)

Geez, they could at least have used the reverse design instead of recycling the Ike reverse!
Do you have one of those in your inventory???
<< <i>I agree. That 1977 pattern dollar is a great design. However, I always thought it was the work of Frank Gasparro, not Gilroy Roberts. >>
It is the work of Frank Gasparro. You can see his initials on the obverse.
