Has anyone bought from Chuck Furjanic, Inc. Rare Coins?
I believe they are in TX. What can you tell me? Thanks.

He is also an expert in antique golf clubs.
I believe that he is an Ebay seller, so he could offer all sorts of numismatic material.
I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

Let's see-- coins and golf. Can you get a better combination???

Yes..... coins, golf and classic cars.....
Opps...I have bought one coin from him. It was nice as far as I can remember.

Chuck owned and operated a coin shop on Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill (Pittsburgh, PA) in the 1970's and early 1980's. I visited his shop regularly until I was about 13 years old. I bought several large cents and half cents from him, and one of these is in my Dansco 7070 type set. I occasionally see him at shows. He does not recognize me (I probably look different from when I was 12

Really! When I saw the name Chuck Furjanic I recognized it as a Pittsburgh name but for some reason I was thinking sports (but not golf, though). Was the guy a high school football coach or something? That was a period when I was not working on coins so I never went to his shop. And I could have easily taken the 61A bus right from Swissvale to Forbes and Murray.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
I do not have any knowledge of Furjanic being involved in high school football. I do, however, remember the 61A. Before I could drive, I would generally take it, the 61C, or the 67H downtown from Squirrel Hill to visit two coin shops (to keep this coin-related): one was called Liberty Coins (I think) on Smithfield Street and the other was inside nearby Kaufmann's department story. I still have an intact complete set of circulated Frankies purchased for me by grandmother for my 13th birthday in a Whitman Classic holder at Kaufmann's. I am ashamed to tell you how much she paid for it.
