Whatever happened to Ken Harvey of the Royals?

Okay, I know he was a pretty bad first baseman. But he did have some pop in his bat. Whatever happened to him? Is he still in baseball?
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

    He ate his way out of the majors......

    Some pop in his bat? The guy, for his size, hit like my kindergarten girl.....you could always count on a weak dribbler to second.

    OK, seriously, he was in the Royals AAA affiliate the last I knew. My guess is that he'll be working on some road crew in a few more years. If I remember right, I don't believe he earned a degree in anything from Nebraska.

    ......actually, I think I passed his crew on the way to work today!image

    Yeah, he was in AAA last year. No pop though. Was hitting about .340 at the All-Star break a couple years ago (was KC's lone representative). I think he finished the year at about .280 with about 10 hr's. Dallas, I think you're right. Both him and Joe Vitiello are working for Bob Hamelin's road construction company. image

    Tell you what....if the current Royals keep playing the way they are a few more will be candidates for Hamlin's construction company!! I bet Elarton is having second thoughts about leaving Cleveland .......

    But just remember, we're still in Phase I of our plan!image

    .......of course, we've been in phase one since 1994, and no one is real sure how many phases there are......

    Actually, we made it to phase 2 a few years ago when we were contending for the division. Apparently that is our plan; be terrible for 8 years, developing talent. Then shock the baseball community by finishing third in the division. Then start all over again. You heard it here first; KC Royals - 3rd place AL Central in 2010.
