1969 Topps Mantle White Letter- Grade or sell raw?

The card looks better than the scan, but is still a PSA 1 or maybe a 2. Should I grade it or sell raw? Book is $2,000

  • It looks like a 1 to me, but I'd still get it graded just so it's basically authenticated. Bidders will pay more for it, if you ever choose to sell it.

Agree with Topps Collector........I had a '69 YL in about the same shape , maybe worse. I graded it & got $45 for it on ebay. I didn't have a penny in it except grading.

I agree with everybody else about grading it, but make sure you get a good clean scan of it before you grade it. That card might not scan so good in a holder so keep a raw scan for your auction to go with the graded scan.

I'd just sell it raw and spam PSA in the listing title:

    1969 Topps Mickey Mantle #500 WHITE L'S - OK 4 PSA RGSTRY

That's pretty descriptive, you're not actually saying the card is graded, you're simply saying that if someone were to grade it, they could add it to their PSA set in the registry.

I think you'll get more for it raw than you would in a PSA 1 holder. That's a pretty rough card.
