He bids on a lot of sets. I think thats his business model. Buy the sets and grade the gradeables. If you think about it, a few 9's out of this set and he would be even. A 10 and he's got lotsa profit. That checklist is nice, I wonder if the art director was smoking something
I love an auction where the seller tells you what grade the cards would receive if they were slabbed. Uh, if this set were PSA 9 quality then why the hell didn't the seller get it slabbed?
Note that every star we see a scan of is OC; God knows what the commons look like. I've taken a few flyers on these kinds of sets before, and not one time have I been happy with what I've received. It's at the point now where I'll take a shot at a set like this only if there is a very clear and unambiguous return policy. If not I'll let someone else sit at home with a bottle of gin and wonder why they paid $1000 for an EX-MT '60's football set.

Believe me, that was my "business model" too (before I realized how much money I was losing) - along with many other collectors I know. But, I agree 100% with boopotts on this - all I see are OC cards for the most part, and even low pop commons from this era don't have the appeal they once did. It bears repeating - if the seller says there are 8's 9's and maybe even 10's in a set (which I don't see) then why didn't he get them himself? Does he not like money?
