I've seen it discussed before but didn't find it via search- How to remove cards from PSA holders?

I don't know if it matters or not but I am removing a 3x5 IC rather than a trading card.

You know, every time someone cracks a card out of a case it makes our population report more and more inaccurate. PSA could care less if we are taking the cards out of the case, but they are doing the population report for the good of the hobby. Why don't people be happy with the grades they got, and keep them as is? Anyone else tired of hearing about all this cracking cards out of the case hoopla? I personally wish PSA would make the cases impossible to open up without damaging the card.

Flips can be sent in with a submission to have them removed from the pop report.
I think it would be great if people didnt (have to) take cards out of the holders. In a perfect world, there would be consistent grading and an 8 would be an 8 would be an 8. We're not always happy nor do we agree with grades that are assigned to our cards.
Plus, the instant it looks like some $$ can be made by an undergraded card, that slab doesn't stand a chance. Human nature takes over.

  • zef204- Thank you very much for the link.

baseballjeff- I know your rant was generally speaking but in my case I am cracking an index card. I bought it slabbed so that I know it's legit. The IC will be used for a project.

I remember reading about someone sending their cracked slips back to PSA. Has anyone here done that? Did you notice a change in the pop report when you did?

Hey Zef, did you ever resub that Carter you were cracking in the photo illustration?

Naw, had aa surface crease that I missed when I submitted it. That one would be a 5 everytime. If there is onething PSA is consistent on, its surface creases getting 5's. I just picked that card for the demo because it was of no use to me in a holder. It will still look nice as part of a raw set.

When you begin to seperate the top part from the bottom part of the slab, the seal breaks and the clear plastic shows a white frost. If you see a card you are looking to buy with white frost around the edges, I wouldstay away as that could be a sign of tampering.

  • I have wondered about this card because of it being mislabeled. Do you see any evidence of "frosting"?

I've bought SGC cards and had to crack and submit so I could get them on my set registry.

I think once you've made the decision to collect graded cards, trying to get the best grades comes with the ride.

I've heard that some collectors send their cracked card flips (not slabs) to PSA. I'm not sure if PSA uses them to reduce the pop report though.

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

The Clemens looks legit, just a label problem. I have received a few mis-labeled slabs lately.

  • If someone sends a psa card in for a crossover and the grade gets changed, do they change it in the pop report? i would hope so.
