So,,, what the heck is it. It was in a 2X2 labeled "1844 one penny model E190 Pattern" this one was with a brass center and there is another one labeled the same but with a silver center. I know they are not major items, but--- I have no clue what they are--Anybody know?

British pattern penny appears to be P 2091 with brass center and listed as very scarce in Peck. If the center is white metal the rarity listing changes to very common. The silver center piece is listed as extremely rare.

Thanks boiler for the info-- you are amazing me.
Here is a pic of the silver piece. This one has a different alignment than the brass piece. This one has a medal alignment (upright when flipped) while the brass piece has a coin alignment (reverse inverted when flipped) This piece is very dirty and not as corroded as my pics make it look. It also has a major die break on the reverse. Thanks again guys.

  • The RARE variety is the ALL SILVER...... NOT the silver center...

Speaking of which, if money were no object, this collection would have been fun to pick up and play with...
