Home Buy, Sell, & Trade - U.S. Coins

I have 40 BU rolls of peace dollars -

These came from my Uncle's estate, and since I am the collector, I have been nominated to change them into cash. The rolls are pretty much all 1922 &1923, and are original BU coins, from the description I've gotten. I have not looked at them myself yet. They are now in a safe deposit box in State College, PA....any dealers in that area interested in working on a deal?
Also, I will be attending the CSNS in Columbus next w/e and I can haul them along if any other dealers are interested in the coins. They were all purchased from a company called LCC, located in New Hampshire, I believe - they seem to be a reputable outfit, judging from some of the other coins he got from them, that I did get to see.
Feel free to send a PM if interested, and we can discuss details.... I would like to see the coins before actually deciding on a price, although it sounds like they are common date, average BU silver dollars.

Looks like Chuck has no interest in selling his 40 rolls,

I was in the process of buying a few rolls. Is there something I need to know about Chuck? Has anyone else dealt with Chuck?

  • Wow - this place is like the National Inquirer! (or Peyton Place..pick the day...) I'll address some remarks:

    - I wasn't aware of a dealer in CW with a name similar to the handle I use....possibly I should change mine?

    - I believe I mention that interested parties should PM me for details - Peace dollars are not a specialty of mine, and I hope to have a better idea of their value after I attend CSNS later today & tomorrow, and gather opinions.

    - I also own a small business (pharmacy, not coins), and have been putting in extra time to get days off to attend the show. If a person is in urgent need to contact me, my PM is always on, and my email is listed on my profile - some members have even used it!image

    - Additionally, I am in frequent consultation with my sister (executrix of estate) concerning several offers for a parcel of 108 acres w/trailer court near State College, so there is that to deal with.

-The rolls are all BU, some with very clean fields, and some with various levels of bag marks - I feel that there are at least 3 or 4 per roll that could go MS65, and there are a few that are pretty "baggy" - but no coins show any evidence of having circulated, which is the case with most Peace dollars. Again, these coins are not one that I am comfortable in grading, due to the consistently weak strike....but judging from the fields, there are some very nice coins in every roll.

    - I have dealt with several other forum members via BST, and I think any one of them would vouch for my credibilty. If you wish to speculate on inuendo, feel free...I have plenty of irons in the fire at this time, and will attend to serious inquiries as promptly as possible. I posted the pertinent facts as accurately as I could at this point...as far as how much, the price range was mentioned in an earlier post, which I edited, and thought it would show on this post - I see it doesn't. I suggested that the highest offers over $330/roll would get first dibs - otherwise they will go to eBay, with a starting price of $299, and buy-it-now of $349.

    - For anybody put out by my not reviewing this post, I am deeply sorry, however, as stated above, my PM is always on, and my email can be found, if you are serious. I don't spend as much time on the forum as other members - on that count only, I plead guilty (happily!)

If anybody is planning on attending the CSNS in Columbus on Thursday afternoon or Friday, let me know, and you can see some rolls there.
    Regards, Chuck

  • I'd also be interested in purchasing a few rolls. Please let me know price per roll, or a ballpark. Thanks.
