Franklin type 1&2 ?

Can some body give me a link to the difference between type 1 and type 2?
What all years are there type 1&2?
Is it just Proof coins?

Probably the easiest "tell" is shown in Russ' pictures.

Look at the perch that the eagle is standing on. Type I has 4 wing feathers beyond the ends of the perch.

Type II has only 3 wing feathers beyond the perch.
