Fish or Fowl?

I recently purchased this at auction. It shows double strike features on the obverse and triple strike features on the reverse. I think it was triple struck with the last strike or two happening as it came out of the collar.

I posted it on the Canadian site and one member, who says he also examined it at the auction, thinks it is a manufactured fake. I disagree, but am not an expert in error coins and will submit it to be sure. All of the doubled features (letters, numbers, beads, etc.) are in relief. Somebody would have to make an incuse punch to do that, and I doubt that anybody would, or could, go to that trouble.

Opinions welcome.

I remember that one in the catalog.

IMHO: it's original, interesting, but ugly. It doesn't fit well with your beautiful red Vickies. Better send it to me to hide it away. image
