The secret meeting in Chicago included an ex-homerunhall coin I didn't even know about: lots of phot

..was between Mac and myself for some prearranged beauties. Usually these take place in hidden spots somewhere in the Swiss alps or lakes, but this one was in Rosemont, Illinois. 3Mark and Preussen managed to discover us.Text
It included a lot of beauties, some highlights:
Switzerland 1930B 2 rappen MS67RD

1876-B 10 rappen PCGS MS67 (billon)

1859-B 20 rappen PCGS MS66 (billon)

1930-B 5 rappen PCGS MS68

1850-A 2 francs PCGS MS66

1920-B PCGS MS68

You have no idea how good these look in a PCGS' cherrywood 30 coin box.

Dimitri, you should pick your favorite Swiss lake and attach a name to that 1930 5 Rappen. Folks, as nice as the image is those deep ice blue fields shimmer like no other cu-ni piece I have ever seen. The 1931 10 Rappen (ex-homerunhall) has a very special look but not the depth of those fields.......
Also, Phil's image of that 1930 is 'spot-on' even though it looks 3x better in person. Any professional would be hard pressed to ever render a better still image of that coin.
About 23 years ago I bought the equal of that 1876 at an auction in Texas, and sold it to a S. African dealer for double...
All in all, I hope you are pleased; and yes, that cherrywood box does add a little extra panache.
Cheers, Mac
I noticed a pile of three 1876 10 rappen on Andy's table in Chicago, very nice all of them, just like most of his coins, but not nearly as nice as this one. Thanks for letting me have it, but what happened in these 23 years, Swiss billon prices crashed or you just didn't like the SA dealer?

D, I thought I had told you about that pedigree. It was in an OGH, but that was lost when it was reimaged by TrueView.
David had a stellar collection of Swiss Federal which I believe he sold about 10-12 years ago. I would have loved to have seen it in its entirety given that 1931's quality.
Guys, you didn't see these coins, because they were passed under the table and your nose, we're not as dumb as you think.
