1983/4 Star Co. Larry Bird #26 CSA graded...

I have a 1983/4 Star Co. Larry Bird #26 that was put away in 1990 or 1991. It's CSA graded 9-mint... I assume these are not as popular as they once were - but how is the best way to sell? I also have a sealed 1983/4 Celtics bag that was put away at the same time (stopped collecting cards).

I would welcome any and all comments.

You're mistaken that '80s Star basketball is not desirable anymore. It is. The problem is they were reprinted in the 1990s thus making a lot of the singles avaliable suspect- in other words, fake. (That's why PSA no longer grades them. A guy who used to grade Star for SCD claims he knows how to spot the differences between the originals and reprints but he has never made that information known as far as I know.) I think sealed team bags would give a little more comfort to a buyer because you'd think the age of the bag would be evident.

Ebay is always the way to go if you want to sell. You may get some questions from prospective bidders regarding how long you had the cards, where you got them, etc in order to determine whether they are real or reprints. (It sounds, though, like you have real ones.)

PreTurb - I do not think the CSA holder is going to help your Bird card. If you bought it from a reliable seller (Steve Taft, Todd Crossner etc.) that should help your listing. Plus, as was mentioned, when you bought the cards is important. GAI is now grading these cards with Taft doing the authenticating. You might want to check on ebay to see if the GAI cards are selling for a premium.
