  • Yep, looks like Rico Carty.
  • Bad hair? I love to have a mop like that ... image
  • No "extra" hair added...infact, I had to lighten the background some to get his fro to stand out. The unlightened image has just a silouhette of Oscar's considerable girth...this one gives us it's full beauty!
    It is, indeed, Rico Carty.

    WOW !!!

No kidding, one of my most vivid memories of being at Yankee Stadium in the late 70's was of Oscar Gamble pinch hitting. I was in the upper deck on the third base line and all I can remember was that FRO leaking out of his helmet image

By the way, that looks like a PACKED HOUSE as far as 70's Indians baseball goes image

  • fsjeter,
Everything I post here is available. The editions are limited--some to only one copy at a particular size. I do that to protect the images integrity. I get tired of seeing the same 'ol pics and don't want these originals to become those retreads. I will have a web-site up mid-June '06. In the meantime, just send me an email at oldschool.images@yahoo.com and let me know what players or subjects you like and I'll see what I have. Hopefully I'll have something you'll like.
I sent one guy four different Mattingly's. He finally got one he liked. He agreed to purchase it along with a '71 Munson--then vanished off the face of the earth...though he still posts here...
I'm thrilled that you dig the pics! Give me a shout!

    Scott,

That could be dangerous. I saw one that dgf posted and just had to buy it. I really need to stay away from all that could be bought as there are likely many others I may need to buy.

    Phil,

I am really looking forward to that Wrigley photo.

  • Jordan,
I almost mailed it today. I chickened out. I recieved a large photo Thursday and it was dinged in transit shipped flat. I am going to "tube" your photo and ship it that way...I need to buy a tube and it'll go right out. It worries me when it's flat with cardboard (large sizes) as mail carriers are only SO careful.
You're gonna love it! It'll go out Monday morning and you'll have it Wednesday...or Tuesday as you're pretty close.

When sending pics by email, the person no longer has to order an original print. He will print out the pics you sent at a smaller size and live with it since it was for "free." So, the guy with the four Mattingly's did not disappear, he is on this board posting, like you said, and enjoying the 4 pics printed out via ink jet on photo paper decorating his room.
