Time out

I have noticed some people don't post as much as they used to.

I took a break for a bit and people enquired...

Like anyone here, I am thankful for the thoughts.

I noticed that Mud doesn't post here much anymore. JS used to post way more.

And some like BKAH, e.g. are gone along with guys like Aknot.

So, not to sound melodramatic, I, too, am gonna take a vacation from my hobby.

There's no problem, as such, other than some factors like getting the amex under control along with ebay spending. Which I am totally successful. Thanx.

It's just time - I've gone pretty much non-stop for over 2 years.

I will miss you guys and hope to be back soon.

Anyone else feeling anything similar? I will tell ya, I miss the "ebay hunt."

So, along with some of the new guys, keep it real.

Good luck on all your sets and stuff.

I'm new here, but I must say that you all have been really friendly and helpful to me and other newbies. And for this I thank you all.

Stone, I have noticed you make sure to to talk to everyone, and you come across as a genuine and very nice guy. I always enjoy reading your post.

Good luck with everything and drop in on the board now and then.

Stone, I think I speak for everyone on the board when I say that you will be missed, Even when you were gone for a week or so the boards lacked your thoughtful insights and greetings for our newer members. I am glad to see your 9.5 step program has worked for you. You have taught us well Obi Wan, we hope to see you again very soon.

    Mike,

Say it ain't so, you are so close to 10,000 posts!image

I hate to agree with anything Perry says, but you don't have to quit the board just to take a time-out from the hobby? Do you?
When I see a thread started by you, I always make it a habit of reading you posts. Good luck and keep rockin'

Good Luck Mike! I too havent bought anything in a while. I'll probably still chip away at my 74 set but other than that, I have a deck to build and a bathroom to remodel. I never thought I would say this, but I am pretty content with my collection. I still like to check out whats going on around here so I'll be in and out. So until we meet again sir, Enjoy and take care bud!!

    Mike,

I've developed a respect for your insightful posts and always sought them out, too. I kinda go through stages where I have time to check out the boards here and escape into my "collection of collections" (as my wife once called them after packing up for a move). At other times the family and work leave me too busy or tired to log in, but I really feel comfortable here and can usually find someone to make a trade with or just share a discussion on a mutual interest. I guess I try to balance everything out -- to a Libra like me, that's my obsession!

I do hope you won't stay away long.

Good friends like you are too rare...

Mike, Take your time !! I am inspired by your decision and discipline and are thinking about taking some time off also. I feel like I am in Vegas many days and telling myself its all for the entertainment value!! ! It took me seven years in the mid 1980s to complete my 1955 Topps Baseball set! I am working on upgrading my Raw 1970 Topps BB while doing a PSA 8.5 ish set of same time. It is too easy now, I could almost do both in a week and the money adds up fast. Have some fun and take forever if you want. You are a class act! Gary
My focus, 1970 Topps Baseball Raw and Graded, pre 1989 PSA Hockey and 1933 INDIAN GUM ! Yikes!!

Good luck Mike. I have cut my purchases to almost zero lately. However, my 7 yr old is starting to become interested in cards so you just never know.
