Hr Hitters

Just thinking of some big guys who were NOT part of the steroid scandal and used to crush the ball. The guy that comes to my mind is the "Big Cat" Andres Gallaraga, This guy hit some mammoth HR's in his day.

I wonder if he could have used the juice, he also got alot bigger as his career went on.

It's honestly really hard to tell who used steriods and who didn't. Players could have been using them prior to even starting in the majors so they would appear to always have been a big person. Look at Canseco. He admitted to using and he was crushing the ball ever since he started playing. I heard people say that Frank Thomas is steriod free. How does anybody know for sure? He played college football and steriods have been abused in football for many more years than baseball. I would safely say that Griffey is steroid free since he's always been kinda thin. For 95% of the players though, I don't think anybody can say for sure if they've used or not. Palmiero doesn't look like a user and look how that turned out.
  • I agree, we will never know. And I have the feeling that more and more pitchers will be exposed as well.
  • As wacko as Manny Ramirez can be, he has hit some steroid free homers to be at awe at!

Playing off the posts on this topic, I agree that guys like Gallaraga, Thomas, Griffey JR, Ramirez, Vaughn and Fielder are solid citizens.

That said - what about McGuire? I know Big Mac used OTC enhancers such as creatine supplements...as did many others. He owned up to it. They were not banned. Comments one way or another?

    Regards.

Big Mac is just as quilty as the next guy as far as using steroids. He cheated everyone during that magical hr chase in 1998, Im not hearing about creatine, 1ad and all that nonsense. Big Mac got out of baseball right before the scandal surfaced and stands by his comments of "Im all done talking about that"

I will say this though, Im glad he juiced. 1998 was my favorite season in baseball next to 2004 when my Sox broke the curse.
